On December 20, 2012, Moscow company "EC-leasing" hosted a press conference on the creation of SEMAT Russian Chapter. The Executive Committee is headed by Professor Dr. Boris Pozin, EC-leasing CTO (semat@ec-leasing.ru). Software Engineering professionals from Moscow and St. Petersburg took part in the press conference. They represented organizations of industry and leading universities (Moscow and St. Petersburg state Universities, University MESI, High School of Economics, University MIREA etc.).
Ivar Jacobson presented SEMAT's origin and its current status via teleconference and answered attendees' questions. Russian specialists have already taken part in SEMAT working groups. During the press conference, Russian software engineering professionals expressed their interests in SEMAT materials learning, activities in theory development and applications of SEMAT to real projects.
Russian chapter plans to delegate Russian specialists to SEMAT Working Groups, to host SEMAT Workshop that will be collocated with the 3rd conference "Actual problems of System and Software Engineering" in spring 2013, to translate the Essense book and articles on SEMAT into Russian, and to create SEMAT RU site etc.
