SCRUM & ESSENCE UNITE
NEW NAVIGABLE GLOSSARY CREATED
Ivar Jacobson International & Scrum Inc. have applied Essence to create a new navigable glossary of the essential elements of Scrum, which will launch in Certified Scrum classes taught by the co-creator of Scrum, Dr. Jeff Sutherland in February 2018 in the United Kingdom.
“Ivar Jacobson’s early work in Use Cases, Rational Unified Process (RUP), and Unified Modeling Language (UML) was fundamental to the emergence of agile processes. He has evolved the open Essence Standard as the best way to describe a methodology. We partnered with IJI to apply Essence to create a simple glossary of the events, roles and artifacts of the Scrum framework.”
Dr. Jeff Sutherland, co-creator of Scrum and Founder of Scrum Inc.
“By using the Essence cards to describe the essential elements in Scrum, Scrum Inc. provides a simple, intuitive view of Scrum that complements the existing Scrum guide and enables teams to more quickly adopt Scrum and accelerate value delivery," explained Dr. Jacobson. “And that’s not all, although we’re starting with cards the real power is the ability for practitioners to complement Scrum with their own continuous improvement.”
